Mike Cooper

began his career with KAYS on December 1, 1967. He was originally hired as Program Director, a title he's held since his career began in Hays. A few short months after his hiring, Cooper began the morning shift and has done so ever since.  Though he has never sought recognition, he has been recognized by the Kansas Association of Broadcasters for his contributions. He was awarded the 2005 Hall of Fame Award by the Hays Area Chamber of Commerce and the 2007 Hall of Fame Award from the Kansas Association of Broadcasters.  Mike has been with us through news, weather, closings, parades, services, and more.  Mike is truly

7:00am - 8:00am   Listen to The Breakfast Club as Sports Director Gerard Wellbrock, and News Director Callie Kolacny join Mike for an hour of fun and entertainment, featuring the latest news, sports, and contests.

8:00am - 9:00am  The Daily Focus is an hour featuring interview segments with USD 489, FHSU, Hays Public Library, Ellis County Historical Society, Ellis County Extention Agents, and others, ABC News, Local News, Lunch Bunch, Sports, Business News,   Bloomberg Boot Camp, Cyber Shake and Paul Harvey.

9:00am - 10:00am  Monday through Thursday listen for Coming of Age, a one hour live call-in program discussing items of interest to retirement aged listeners.  Listen each Friday for the Friday Forum, a one hour Community Issues program with live call-in.
